1. First things first, today (Nov. 5th) is as big day as you release your promo project, give us a little background info on this project.
Well I originally just planned on releasing my album, One Stop Shop before the years end, but I had a change of heart while I was getting tracks ready at the studio. There were just too many tracks recorded and not enough room on one CD. So what I decided to do is release a promotional CD about 5 months before the release of my album to basically promote and give people a reason why they should listen to me and my music.

2. What would you call your biggest inspiration when it comes to your music career?
My biggest inspiration is remembering where I come from. I grew up in a household that struggled to get by, crime all around me, and plenty to get into trouble with. Instead of taking this as a negative, I use it to drive me. I still feel like I’m that guy in the hood trying to make a way out.
3. How long have you been writing and/or performing?
It seems like forever but I have only been performing for about 2 years and writing all my life. At first it was just a hobby, something I enjoyed doing. Soon I just reached a point where I felt I could take my talents seriously and actually accomplish something special.
4. We know you are very active in different cities in NC, in your eyes describe the current state of the hip hop scene here.
I feel as though the hip hop scene is on the rise in North Carolina. The last 6 months especially, I have heard a surplus of NC artists on the radio and on TV, along with a few artists from NC getting signed. It’s only a matter of time before NC music really becomes what it can and will be.
5. What are your long term goals for yourself musically and personally?
Long term, I want to be known in every part of North Carolina. I just want to be in the conversation, when there are discussions about who was a part of the NC movement. Personally, I just want to live a comfortable lifestyle and be able to provide for me and my family. Everything else will fall in to place.
6. Explain to us the meaning behind your stage name.
I always have been a money hungry guy. I’m that guy that looks for new and different ways to make money, that guy that loves spending money, and most importantly loves the feeling you get when someone pays you. So it was only right that I’m named Stacks.
7. Describe to us your everyday work ethic.
I probably do more in one day than artists do in one week. I am constantly on reverbnation, myspace, twitter and facebook. I go out of my way to keep in touch with fans which is big for me. I spend time each day listening to new beats, recording lyrics to make them sound better, and thinking of new ways to be effective. And most importantly I talk to people about my music. People don’t realize how important it is to just mention you do music to everyone you meet in a day. One day I know all my hard work will pay off.
8. LGI is your camp, what is the overall mission of this unit?
The mission is to be an effective force in the game by creating good music for the masses. A relatively small operation right now, but I expect big things from LGi and anyone associated with us.
9. Who are your top five emcees, industry or independent, dead or alive?
Gotta go with
1. Jay-Z
2. Eminem
3. T.I.
4. Wayne
5. Drake
I haven’t included independent artists because I just haven’t heard enough to make a decision, but some notable mentions are: Jones Andrews, Ty Bru, Ed E Ruger, Ricky Ruckus, Kain, TFE, and Money Now.
10. What kind of legacy do you strive to leave behind when it’s all said and done?
When it’s all said and done, I just want to look back and honestly be able to say that I put my all into music. I think if I can do that, there’s nothing else you can ask for.
