The Shizzle Jerk Marinade … Raleigh NC

I first heard of The Shizzle, from my new friends over at Eat It, North Carolina, who did some grilled Shizzle marinated wings, or SHWINGS as they had dubbed them. Next, head guy over at Eat It, NC, Charlie Brinson, had some left over duck meat in the freezer. Why not? I was interested and curious about this sauce with the smiling rasta on the label, so I immediately looked them up on Facebook, and ordered the two jar package(which is almost gone by now). What to shizzle first? I decided to take jar number two to work and shizzle some wood fired wings and fried calabash shrimp. The wings were an instant hit. I was craving more within the hour. The shrimp were awesome too, but next time, I’ll leave off the breading. The next day, I was rummaging around in the freezer, looking for my next shizzle. Ah! chicken drumsticks. What else? One large ziplock bag, and in go the brussel sprouts, cauliflower, corn, green beans, carrots, and broccoli, with a generous amount of The Shizzle marinade. One zip, mix, and roast later and I had a perfect Roasted Shizzle Veggizzle with Shizzle drumsticks and rosemary/thyme mashed potatoes.
The description from the company- “The Shizzle pays serious respect to the ancient traditiions of caribbean jerk flavor, yet is truly unique. Our special blending process combines the intensity of Jamaican spices, garlic, and habanero peppers with the mild sweetness of pineapples. The result: a bold thick rub which clings to meat and becomes perfectly caramelized and crispy when cooked slowly on the grill or in the oven. We recommend it for all meats and veggies, but especially on chicken, fish, pork, and shrimp”.
Founded in 2010, The Shizzle is a part of the Big & Fine Food Co. 2805 Winter Song Rd. Raleigh, NC 27614. Their mission? Ridding the world of watery marinades and mass-produced BBQ sauces. The war is being fought (and won) one tastebud at a time. Do your life a favor and try it !!
