UFC Signs Bullies Nightmare

When will we see “Mayhem” in the ring again? Well, it has been announced that Fayetteville North Carolina’s Jason “Mayhem” Miller (24-7) will be leaving Strikeforce for the UFC. The controversial MMA fighter, and host of MTV’s Bully Beatdown, has signed a muti-fight agreement with the UFC, and is scheduled to fight Aaron Simpson at UFC 132 set for July 2nd from Las Vegas, Nevada. Miller has fought for the UFC once before… at UFC 52, “Mayhem” fought Georges St. Pierre and lost via decision. Miller’s last fight was in August when he submitted MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba at DREAM 16. The last Strikeforce event Miller was involved with ended in a very ugly brawl. About a year ago Miller entered the ring after Strikeforce’s Welterweight Champ Jake Shields defended his belt against Dan Henderson. “Mayhem” began to demand a rematch with Shields. Believe it or not, Shields and his Cesar Gracie Camp-mates were not pleased… what happened next was a nasty brawl that left Miller bloody and MMA with a bit of a black eye. The rivalry between Miller and the Cesar Gracie Camp should make for some great match-ups down the road.

Is this the beginning of the end for Strikeforce? First, it was Jake Shields jumping to the UFC… now Jason Miller. With the UFC buying Strikeforce, something tells me this trend will probably continue. As fighters contracts with Strikeforce end, you’ll probably see the fighters the UFC wants to keep brought over to the UFC. The ones they don’t want will probably be looking for a job…
