Starring Bradley Cooper (The Hangover I and II) , Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch) , and Robert De Niro (everything for the past 30 + years), in a story about an out of work, unpublished writer, Eddie Morra, who is barely scraping by an existence, and is very close to being evicted from his hole in the wall apartment. When he runs across his ex- brother in law. The first thing out of his mouth is “are you still dealing”? No, of course not. They go for a drink, and Eddie is introduced to a new drug called NZT which enables the user to go from the limited 20% of our brain capability, to the limitless 100%. After reluctantly taking the sample one pill of NZT, Edddie is suddenly super focused, if only to clean his apartment and finally get over his writer’s block. So, now he’s hooked and has to have this stuff. The rest of the movie has Eddie on an NZT fueled odyssey which leads him to meet Carl Van Loon (Robert De Niro) who sees Eddie’s intelligence as potential to make billions. He also has run ins with all sorts of shady characters who have a taste for the NZT fix.Very cool film that makes me wish this was a real drug. Who wouldn’t want to reach their full brain capacity? My only complaint was that I wanted the film to be longer!
