This week I caught up with North Carolina MMA Fighter Lalani Malley-Mancao. Here is a bit of Q and A for folks to get to know the up and coming fighter….
Q… Where are you from? and where do you live now?
A… I was born in Springfield, Oregon. Raised in Pfafftown North Carolina and Spent high-school threw college in Cebu, Philippines. I consider my home Cebu, Philippines. But, currently I live in Winston Salem North Carolina
Q… Do you have a fight “nickname”?
A… People call me “The Filipino Wrecking Machine”. Stepehen Mizzi, who trains with me, gave me the name. But I have other’s like Lalalalala-land and The Blood Raven.
Q… What city do you fight out of? What team do you train with?
A… I fight out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina with American Martial Arts Academy, “Team One”.
Q… Are you a professional or amateur?
A… I am currently an Ammy fighter.
Q… Do you have any sponsors? if so, who?
A… I have a couple sponsors Freedom Fighter Brand, Diamond Thieves Body Piercing & Tattoos, and Scrap Fightwear.
Q… How long have you been involved in mma?
A… I have been doing martial arts on and off since I was 5.
Q… What first got you interested in mma?
A… I kinda just stumbled upon the MMA Academy. I was looking to learn Muay Thai boxing and I found a BJJ school instead. It felt natural and I just kept coming. So, a year in a half later my instructor came up to me and said Hey when are you going to fight? From there I began my Ammy career.
Q… What are your mma goals?
A… My goals in MMA is to be all I can.
