Rex’s Film Reviews … Frenzy

Frenzy is the 1972 suspense thriller from famed director Alfred Hitchcock that I have put off seeing for years. I don’t know why, but my friend in Florida would constantly try to turn me on to this awesome film, but I would just shrug and say “whatever’.  I finally broke down and rented this from netflix recently and boy was I wrong back then! The most amazing camera angles and sweeping shots over london’s produce market and all around the architectural structures.  Starring Jon Finch as Richard Blaney, a man who has not only been fired from his job at the local pub, but is also starting to appear to be the necktie murderer, who is working on his next victim, who just happens to be Blaney’s ex-wife Brenda Blaney.  The actual necktie murderer Bob Rusk, is a vile human being who runs the produce market by day, and rapes and strangles women at night. This film was the return to great filmmaking by Alfred Hitchcock after Topaz and Torn Curtain. I think I will check out other Hitchcock films to see what I’ve been missing.
