North Carolina native receives elite invitation to Shanghai 2011 Top Marques Expo
Seven years ago, Casey Mull, a Hickory, North Carolina native, packed his bags, boarded a plane and made what has become a permanent move to his new home, China. Most recently residing with his wife, Jyobin, in Shanghai, Casey has been offered an invitation of a lifetime.
Mull has been extended an exclusive and elite invitation to the 2011 Shanghai Top Marques Expo (Oct. 21-23, 2011) to showcase his original artwork in the form of a series of new paintings.
This year’s exhibition has been referred to as the most exclusive luxury show in the world, displaying the world’s most luxury brands to help develop the best “business relationships with distributors and partners in China.”
The goal according to the organizers of the expo, Borrison Asia Ltd./Shanghai Borrison Expo Co., Ltd is that the showcase “also creates a luxurious and sophisticated ambiance, providing China’s collectors and connoisseurs a direct platform for a close discovery and appreciation of the most exotic luxury lifestyle.”
The luxury discoveries available for these enthusiasts consist of, Real Estate, Supercars, Yachts, Private Jets, Jewelry, Wine, Cigar, Antiques, Fashion, Luxury Travel, Hi-Tech Products, Financial Services, Home Fashion and where Casey Mull fits in, Art.
Mull explains, “The work I will be exhibiting at this show will be a series of four paintings (total series consisting of 13); based around the problems in any society of the world today; painted through the eyes of different animals which gives a little more of a light hearted feeling. The idea of the series came from the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac and the traditional Chinese game, ‘Ma Jiang.’ Each painting looks to be very simple in idea and nature but holds a deeper meaning as these animals use ‘Ma Jiang’ as a way to look at what is going on in the world today”
This is not Mull’s first exhibition by any means; he has had his art shown in numerous venues throughout Shanghai through a non-profit organization called Art+ along with recent private summer showcases in his home state of North Carolina.
“Being selected to exhibit work for the 2011 Shanghai Top Marques expo is a great accomplishment and will have a huge impact on my career as a professional artist in the future.” Mull states and continues, “One of the biggest challenges of my entire life happened recently, which was the passing of my brother…yet through this tragic time, I was able to express my emotions through my own art for myself and for my brother. I believe in this art is a powerful thing.”
Mull’s first installment of the 13 painting series will be available during the 2011 Shanghai Top Marques expo for purchase as well as offering customized artwork for customers preference October 21-23, 2011 in the Shanghai Exhibition Center (No. 1000, Yan’an Road Middle, Shanghai)
