Young Stacks LGi has been grinding, paying dues, and performing all over NC & consistently pumping out quality music for a couple of years now. My guess is that this cd is gonna be a defining moment is his solo career. Stacks debut solo effort “1 Stop Shop” is exactly that, a 1 stop shop for any hip hop lover & has a little something for everyone. This isn’t the just the backpack rap of the Little Brother era or the “commercial” dance music NC has been known for more recently. Its a comfortable mix of both w/ a few other styles mixed in as well. Its an album you can just ride out and vibe to or bang in the clubs. Stacks diversity is what sets him apart from the pack. The album starts off fast w/ Stacks introducing himself to the world w/ the 1st few tracks and proving he can definitely get a club bumpin’ and keep the women pleased w/ songs like “Go Girl” & “Do Ya Thang”.
As soon as the intro kicks in on “Change Gone Come” featuring Jae Blacc & Jones Andrews, you hear a more political side of Stacks & know he’s got a message for the world to hear and its alot more than radio raps. The entire cd is dope but for me from that song on, Stacks turns it up to another level! From the introspective story of an aspiring Emcee’s journey to become a star on “Where Do I Go” to the electronic and almost pop single “Who You Are” (which is my favorite song off the album, believe it or not), he proves why he has come this far in the Carolina scene so fast. He gives you what you want. Fun, energetic tracks to ride too and those dark more street tracks for the everyday cats to relate too, such as “We Up” feat Ethemadassassin, this album has it all. Other tracks that I can’t help but bang everytime its in the cd player are “Hola” featuring LGi’s J. Rich & Iconoclast Crews newest member Kain (shout to Ghost Ent), “Stand Out” featuring Barry Bars and of course “Haters” featuring Jon Jilly & yours truly, Ed E. Ruger. If you are looking for a breath of fresh air for the Carolina scene, look no further…Cop the cd…1 Stop Shop.
