Today I discovered Android’s new dog fighting app for their cell phones. I must admit my first reaction was…WTF??? I figured somebody was just kidding around, but no… it is true. The folks over at Android (owned by Google) have found a new low for themselves. People never stop amazing me with the low down, dirty things they are willing to do to make a buck. And this “game” is prime example. Now, I’m not going to try and educate you on why dog fighting is just plain wrong… on many levels. I’m sure we all heard plenty about dog fighting after the Mike Vick arrest & trial… but it looks like people are still clueless…

I want to remind people that Vick didn’t just simply fight dogs… no that wasn’t enough for Vick and his Crew from Bad Newz Kennels. Vick and his boys torture dogs… bunches of dogs. Why? Was it a culture thing? Was it just standard operating procedures in the dog fighting world? Well… Hell… No! It was the actions of some sick, twisted, simple minded folks that seemed to enjoy their “torture” sessions. Torture… huh? Yes… they torture dogs. They hung dogs… they drowned dogs… and even electrocuted them. The Crew from Bad Newz Kennels also would take family pets and toss them in the ring with their trained killers just so the dog could practice without getting injured so they would be ready for their next fight.
So why bring up Mike Vick again? Because in the new Dog Fighting Android App… you can be Mike Vick. Yep… crazy huh? Makes me wonder if the NFL and/or the Philadelphia Eagles know about this game option? And, if this is “just a game”… why include the option to play as Vick? I know people will say this is just another video game. But I see this issue being much larger than that. Android offering this app says to me that a large number of people in our society… just don’t get it. If a person will treat a dog badly, it’s probably safe to say they would more than likely treat other people badly. It really isn’t that complicated… and it has nothing to do with culture… has nothing to do with being from the south or being a African-American. It has everything to do with drawing a line in the sand and saying..This Is Just Not Right.
